Rolling To Recovery, A story of a 23 year old colon cancer survivor Molly Mc Master, who is now raising awareness for the disease among young people.
The Sunflower Fund

Inspired by Linda Lansberg, one of my oncology nurses at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Purpose:

The Sunflower Fund was established in the year 2000 by Molly McMaster and all those who contributed to Rolling to Recovery. It is available to any cancer patient between the ages of 15 and 29 being treated at Glens Falls Hospital, in Glens Falls, NY. Patients receiving a grant for the Sunflower Fund may use it at their discretion for travel, paying bills, purchasing special needs equipment, paying tuition, or any other purpose. The only excluded expenditure is paying Glens Falls Hospital bills.

Criteria:

To be eligible, patients must be between the ages of 15 and 29, and must fill out the short application at the bottom of this page. The application may be filed on behalf of a patient by a member of the patient's family, or by friends of the patient. Applications will be reviewed by the Clinical Director, the Medical Director, and Molly McMaster.

Grants will be awarded twice each year, with two grants of $500 each awarded in mid-May, and two each in mid-October. The deadline to submit an application for the May awards will be April 30; the deadline for the October awards will be September 30.
